Welcome to Folksy

Folksy is a supportive, inspiring, community environment with an emphasis on doing things with our hands and heart, pulling beauty and magic from the ordinary and moving through the seasons with curiosity, slowness, celebration, and joy.

Folksy strives to bring children a new experience. To step away from our fast-moving, technology-driven culture, and focus on wholesome moments. Through our scout troops, and new homeschool cooperative, we want to create community and magic throughout the year.

Folksy Scouts

Folksy Scouts is our flagship program. What started as a children's nature group in 2017 has evolved into so much more. Folksy Scouts officially created its first troop in 2020 and registered as a non-profit in 2021. We teach children 10 Folksy Foundations under the leadership of volunteer community members and special guests, in a wholesome and nurturing environment.

Currently, we offer 4 troops meeting at various times throughout the week, for girls or boys aged 4-10. Also offering a Folksy Junior Leadership program for 11-17 year olds.

Looking to create community? We offer an unlimited membership to our club and all it's happenings.

We have a variety of structured topic gatherings for children that cover a variety of subjects and enrichments. Our membership gives families access to the classroom space when it's not being used, a Waldorf/Montessori inspired play-space, the "wonder cabinet" and library for supplies and inspiration, and access to our farm-to-table kitchen for meal times and snacks.
